Anticipating the market opportunities presented by growing affluence and lifestyle changes among Indian consumers, Radico Khaitan Ltd. (RKL) set-up the International Business Division (IBD) several years ago.

IBD comprises of a dynamic and growing team of professionals who bring together an obsessive mind-set of ‘value over volume’ and ‘quality over quantity’ in order to contribute towards the achievement of RKL’s strategic objectives of portfolio premiumisation.

Since 2002, IBD is importing, distributing and marketing Carlo Rossi - the #1 bottled table wine brand in the world from the house of Ernest & Julio Gallo, California. It is the largest family owned winery in the world, with this association, Carlo Rossi is also now the fastest moving imported wine label in India with its grand portfolio of the generic Red, White & Rose, along with its range of varietals Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay & Red Muscat.

Beginning of 2011 a key milestone was achieved when Suntory Liquors from Japan tied up with Radico as its exclusive sales and distribution partner for their award winning brands - Hibiki 17 Year Old & Yamazaki 12 Year Old, enhancing RKL’s offering in the premium segment. Japanese whiskies are now grouped together with what are referred to the world’s top five whiskies- Irish, Scotch, American, Canadian and now Japanese.

In Oct 2012 a new premium single malt , Hakushu 12 YO , a green and fresh whisky, which is appreciated for its taste worldwide has been introduced in Indian Market.

Initiated by the IBD team - premium Radico brands such as After Dark Whisky, Morpheus Brandy and Magic Moments Vodka are now listed for sale for the first time at an Airport Duty Free in India starting with Delhi Duty Free Shops. These ‘destination’ products are aimed at departing international travelers to take along with them as a memorabilia from India. Other Duty Free operators have been engaged and soon greater presence of our premium brands would be felt at Indian airports.
